The music genre to see the biggest boom in popularity, over the last few years, has undoubtedly been dubstep music. My question is, why do you like dubstep?
Please leave a comment and share with the world why you like dubstep music. Feel free to list your favorite songs, your history in musical taste, etc.

Well the first song i listened to was a When I look at you – Emalkay. It got me. The wobble was so… I dunno it took me away and now I can’t live without wobble in songs. ;D Although now the Dubstep has led me to Electro(WobbleElectro), Drum and bass and Drumstep and now I heard something about Complextro need to find out more about it.
So back to the topic: I dunno why but I never really liked dirty dubstep but now it take my rage out of me in a peacefull way. And to be honest I would really love skrillex to play in clubs and discos if he were able to erase the house blabla-f***-me-songs.
To Conclude: Wobble, wub wub, and so on!!!
usually, i came from punk and rock, with some hip hop touch, and i never be interested by electronic music, but i remember the first i listen dubstep, honestly…i find that ugly, it was one song by borgore i think. but the second time, I admit, i was totaly drunk, because my woman left, one of my best friend came, we drink, and he put the song still alive by mt eden, and boom… some kind of revelation for me ><, since, i discovered lot of artist, but i listen to dubstep because it's something very different, a kind of world different, and, i'm sorry i have to tell this, but hell, the wooble bass is the most incredible thing never created in music x) . (sorry for the bad english)
Dubstep it makes my head dance….not just the body jump, my head also is spinning!
I’ve always been a fan of songs with very heavy bass. Not only that, I also love catchy tunes and I LOVE the fact that Dubstep can turn a song you already like/previously liked into something BRAND NEW and totally awesome! There are so many different variations so no matter my mood, I’ve always got songs to listen to!
the reason that i like dubstep is because it has that heavy bass. when i first listened to music i listened to rock, then rap, then heavy metal and then dubstep. my favorite songs/artists are deli, robot melting pot, and most skrillex songs. and don;t forget about flux pavilion. I wake up to dubstep, listen to it everywhere and cant live without it. i must say that im going a bit deaf in both ears
i like dubstep because filthy drops are epic when you fucked up
iiiiii loveeeeeee dubbstep because when i hear it i feel like im on ecstasy!!! no lieeeee!! i cant explain it the bass just makes my heart vibrate haha even if the song has no words it talk’s to me its insane! its the language of my brain =) cause im crazyy lol it jus decribes meee i dun even have to roll face nemoree bc i roll face everytime i listen to it! the hairs on my arm stand upp im in loveeeeeee <3
Dubstep has offered something truly fresh to a stagnated market. I love a wide variety of music and can relate to Dubstep through my love of metal, industrial, noise and other styles of electronic music. The grim atmosphere that this style of music creates is probably something that people can associate with given the times that we live in and the dark urban feel that is projected through.
Itβs a grim and dirty sound for grim and dirty times!
i love dubstep because. i am a dj. a real dj. i love that i can make dubstep my own on my decks. i can spread dubstep to others with seamless mixing and high energy intros. I see other cats thinking they can dj dub. its not for everyone. but it is for me…to give to others.
I have enjoyed electronic music from Prodigy in the 90′s to Skream and dubstep names of today. I enjoy the experimental aspects of Dubstep and that it is progressive. Aphex Twin was a trail blazer with some of these sounds. But I especially love running to this music. Nothing lets you kick like a dirty bass breakdown. EPIC
Why do I listen to dub step?
Most people feel attached to their music. People literally believe that a certain song has saved their lives just solely based off of the lyrics. I’ve never felt this way toward music until the beginning of my Sophomore year in high school. I became very depressed and I didn’t know what to do with myself. So instead I smoked weed and got into trouble. But I have always listened to dub step. If I just close my eyes to a certain song, I can picture an entire scene happening. I feel it mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It can always make my mood go up, or help me through a situation. It really calms me down and I feel like I can relate to it. With out dub step, I feel like I still wouldn’t have that “one thing” that people have. In a way, dub step has saved my life.
I believe a lot of people like Dubstep because it cannot be defined. Its like a mash-up of dance, grime and hip hop, dipped in futuristic bliss. The synths and the baseline when perfected can cause a sort of trance like state which compels you to nod your head. I LOVE Dubstep becuase it’s the only genre that gets into my bloodstream and moves my body! Katy B describes it perfectly in her song, “Katy On a Mission”:
“When we erupt into the room and hear the sub go boom, a feeling easy to resume, this right here I swear will end too soon, so I sink into the tune as I inhale the fume, a feeling easy to resume, this right here I swear will end too soon”
“My limbs seem to move what the beat dictates for me, I push into the middle the sound becomes a part of me, taking me back to the sweet familiarity, making my adrenaline rise I feel the eyes on me”
Yep that’s how I feel when I’m dancing to dubstep! Heavy bass is a massage for the soul!
How i came to the love for dubstep… My first music of choice is probably southern rap because of the slower beats and lower bass notes… one day about 2 years ago i stumbled across a dubstep song some where and i couldn’t believe what i was hearing it was like nothing ive ever heard before it was perfect if i were to ever think of making a type of music this is what it would sound like! It kind of has an electro vibe but its slower with lots more bass more “passionate” sounding builds up to bass drops. O and live is just insane everyone goes nuts at the same same everyone understands it haha
Its just the perfect speed of music you can take a song you hate off the radio tweak it and come out with a masterpiece you want to keep listening to its a music medicine.
Well, the first time I heard it was when I was Stoned of my face and heard that Level 67 $100 Block of Hashish song… I freaked out and ripped the earphones out… But it was a ripping out of enjoyment, I had never heard anything so freakishly amazing… Now I’m obsessed with Excision and Skrillex… It is just annoying when you play it in public and get heaps of dirty looks…
I think this generation likes things short, sweet, and unpredictable…. Dubstep carries many of these qualities and i feel that the perfect combination of orchestral skills and grungy LFO riffs are what people collectively need in a track. A melody they like to hum and then a bunch of surprising sounds they can’t seem to grab a hold on…
Its hard to put into words why I love dubstep. Ever since I heard Rusko for the first time 4 or more years ago, I’ve been in love. It relaxes me, while pumping me up at the same time. Dubstep is the only music that can make my scalp tingle during a good song. I just can’t get sick of it. I can’t go a day without listening to my dub.
well theres alot of reasons why i like dubstep but i only really started to like dubstep after i listened to it while tripping on booms dont know why i just really felt like i was a part of the music and everything was just amazing, of course so was everything else but ive always liked it since
Dub is my life . I love The difference in the beats I can realate with thing I go threw everyday. Everyone has a different opinion. But dubstep is all I listen too. And it can pump me up, or even relax me <3 it makes me feel good inside.
I can’t explain what’s going on my mind when I listen dubstep, I just feel i have to enjoy it.
Dubstep is the only genre that my generation can take full credit for. Before the 90s, there was nothing like dubstep, nothing. Electronic music is purely my generations music, and we take pride in that.
As a filmmaker, I love dubstep because it activates my creativity. The mind starts wandering to the tempo of the wooble-bass. I dance, jump and march around my flat, and get perfect images in my mind of how I would like to see a musicvideo.
If you make dubstep and want a musicvideo, e-mail me, and let me hear your song. Peace
i like it for a myriad of reasons. One: the heavy bass and two-step beat make it super nasty to dance to. Two: only a few years old, its still developing, which keeps its fresh, and makes the whole scene of talented, dynamic new artists even more exciting to follow. Three: the people who are into it and attend shows are generally young, open-minded, and have arrived at dubstep because their insatiable appetite for new sounds naturally led them there. And finally – i love it for its takeover mentality — name any song, and there’s probably a dubstep remix of it. Why? Because everything sounds better with some bass wobble on it!
