Kicker HP541 have 54mm Drivers. Plus they have removable cords, which is cool. Not that comfortable (unless you can stretch them a bit on the couch.) 107Db sensativity means they don’t need an amp. 18Hz-20Khz deffinately worth a look because of the drivers.
    $50

Sennheiser HD 202/203/205 have 40mm Drivers and have good bass response. Also not very comfortable though so same problem there 115Db sensativity is the highest I’ve seen of any headphone.
    $25-50

Klipsch Image one are super comfortable and super bassy. 110 Db sensitivity means you don’t need an amplifier. 16Hz-23Khz Range is nice. Also comes with a volume control and mic to use with your ipod iphone or whatever you use. (People tell me it works with android too)
$150 from best buy Cheaper on Amazon. (Under $100)
    http://www.headphone.com/headphones/klipsch-reference-one.php

Of course there’s the XB500, and Dre Beats, which are certainly made for bass.

Whoever said v-moda is a boss. I’ve had mine for a while and I’d say for 200$ it’s worth it. With a frequency response of 5hz to 35khz on 50mm DUAL drivers you can’t go wrong. Features include a steel flex frame design, 2 Kevlar wrapped 32ohm(which ohms don’t matter but nice to know) aux cords with one that has a built in mic (works alright but not recommended for recording) with volume control and pause button which doubles as a phone control. Plus I’ve had them thrown at a wall and droped 2 days ago while riding my bike and the only thing that happened is the shield scratched but you dont even notice it. Highly recommended. And whoever said beats is an idiot. Frequency response on those are 20hz ~ 20khz which is like skullcandy and pretty much all headphones you can get at best buy, wallmart and target. The only thing beats have on others is a built in headphone amplifier, which requires battery’s to run. V-moda supprisingly beats out even most audio technic, sennheiser and other most pro cans I’ve heard.

      “5hz to 35khz”

Haha, ok. The $5000 Stax SR-009, the best headphone in the world, doesn’t even touch those numbers. Human hearing only ranges from 20Hz – 20kHz.

And Ohms do matter. A 32 ohm headphone is going to perform terribly when paired with anything that has more than a 2-3 ohm output impedance due to a low damping factor.

V-Moda doesn’t even touch most offerings from Audio Technica, Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic, Ultrasone, Shure, etc.

In this price range, the Audio Technica ATH-M50 is pretty much cream of the crop. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 is excellent as well.

I have a pair of Solo HD Beats. I use them 5+ hours every day, and 95% of that is dubstep and brostep. After 4 months of use like that, they now have something rattling around inside, and I have worse hearing. If i were to recommend headphones, Get Beats Studio’s. That’s what skrillex uses, and what my friend uses. Although they are relatively expensive, from what i’ve heard and seen, they are extremely durable, have brain-melting sound, and look trendy and cool. I wish that i could have those instead of my HD’s, but they’ll work for now. Good luck finding the best headphones you can!

Great Headphones and blow away many I have tried that cost 3 times as much. Sometimes money does NOT equal better…….sure there are better headphones but not without going over $300 really. AD700′s can rattle my teeth and I swear it feels like floor is shaking just with headphones on some songs (like Magnum) I may get some ATH-A700 later….Audiotechnica for the best wub wub for the buck or pound.

Dont get fucking beats anything. Beats by Dre are the most overrated overpriced headphones. If you plan on buying them prepare to pay 400 dollars for headphone quality that you could purchase with 200 or less. What you’re paying for when you buy Beats is the brand name, the b on the side, the made by Dr Dre. You’re not paying for a extremely nice pair of headphones. Stick with Sennheiser or Audio Technica if you want nice dubstep headphones. If you’re looking for extreme bass, go for the Sony Extra Bass lineup, i believe there is a 50mm pair for around $130.

Onn Enhanced Bass Professional Dynamic Open Air HiFi (long name is long)

Awesome sound quality, heavy bass. Only 40$ at Walmart, though I hear it’s only in Canada. Doesn’t keep sound in very well though, people can easily hear what you’re listening to. I love them though. For 40$, this is something you need to have.
It’s not very durable though, I have to say that. I was an idiot once, my headphones got caught in my hair (my hair’s really curly, shit gets caught in there all the time), I just ripped them out, ’cause I was sick of untangling them. And guess what. The left fucking can just got pulled out completely, except for the cord inside. I had to super-glue it back on. They still work fine though, worry not. I just can’t pivot the side back and forth, but that isn’t a big deal for me.
If you’re not an idiot like me, these will surly do the job for you.

However, I am looking for other headphones. I want something that’s actually durable, and something I can take around with me (3m long cord, made with cloth instead of plastic or whatever). These are indoor headphones, not out ‘n’ about. I also want them to have more noise-cancellation, I don’t want to annoy people with my blaring music.

Read that for more info. But if these are indeed only in Canada, and you don’t live in Canada, then, well… good luck. However, I only read it in that review, and that’s like 3 years old from now, so maybe they’re available in other countries as well now. As far as I know though, these are only available in Walmarts throughout Canada, and not all of them. A rare piece of gold buried in rock, to describe it.

  23. I beg to differ on never being able to fully hear dubstep by headphones…. try the denon hp-1000′s…. BIGGEST speaker driver on the market…..biggest… its a sub with a tweeter in the center…. and they DO NOT distort no matter how high, I know this as I DJ (in a club, not my bedroom, like most ‘DJ’s') and have put them to extreme volume. and to add, they will not break easily like 95% of headphones on the market… also Id like to add, a more then majority of DJ’s in my area have now switched to the Denons…BOOM

    p.s.
read up on the specs of all headphones post above, and compare to the Denons, the only ones that come close at the cross-fades….and the denons are still better, and $50 cheaper, and have more flexability …

Gonna chip in with my two cents, for dubstep, try the JVC HA-RX500′s. I tried some Skullcandy Skullcrushers today to compare, they suck. The bass just feels artificial, they’ve got more bounce, but soooo much less substance.

They’re about 25 bucks on amazon, let not the price dismay you. They sound AMAZING, every genre, every track. They easily rival MUCH more expensive cans. The problem with them being 25 dollars is that they tend to disintegrate after 8 months to a year of heavy use (Jogging. Yes, I jog with giant headphones, lawn maintenance, biking, etc.) and I’m sick of buying new headphones. So I’m looking at the Sony XB500′s. But let me tell you what, the JVC’s bump like nobodies business, without compromising in other areas.

Shipping is fast too, and the overall quality is very high. Comes with a strong hardshell carrying case, two cords; one with a mic/controls, one just a regular cord. Both are gold plated connectors, and Kevlar around the cords. They are much more comfortable than I imagined.

The Sennheiser HD-25, please be assure that’s the PRO MK-II version of them, they’re my current headphones for at least 2 years, despite that I’m a Dj and Producer and use them for long time and almost all days, those headphones are pretty awesome despite they are in plastic they are strong enough and also you can buy separated for them if you broke anything(I’m sure you’ll not, but just in case!)… In the things you are interested in a pair of headphones they’re not Over The Ear, but they’re very much comfortable since you get used to them(most of us are used to Over The Ear headphones that’s why you must adapt to them) they have an awesome frequency response, and a solid bass, but just the enough, if you want a bit more you must push them a bit harder, but they will go with your flow, they don’t distort the sound!!!

For the Pioneer HDJ-2000, I’ve also got some experience with them, used them loads of times playin’, but they are quite heavy compared to the Sennheiser and that’s why they’re not so comfortable has them, but in lack of confort you get a little more bass then Sennheiser(just a bit!), that’s because the frequency response it’s pretty much the same! In durability they’re strong enough, they have some parts in metal, but, in case you brake anything you must buy a new ones, cause the parts, are very expensive, get’s cheaper buying a new ones!! Durability nobody can say anything, because they’re new, about an year they’ve been launched on the dance floor, so no one can say they’ve got more durability then the Sennheiser! And also the Pioneer HDJ-2000 a bit more expensive the Sennheiser HD-25 Pro MK-II!!!!!

In my opinion you get better and comfortable with the Sennheiser, and the sound quality it’s good enough!…

Also you have Studio Headphones option a bit expensive but the quality it’s better, but not that louder!

my friend has sennheiser HD-25′s, while I have not listened to much music through them, they did sound pretty sweet (compared to my sony mdr-v250). one thing I noticed though is the sennheiser HD-25 is not a full over ear headphone, they just sit on your ear. my sony headphones are the same, and after hours of continuous use, I do notice that my ears start to get sore. I can’t remember if this was always the case, as they are quite old and the cushioning is getting worn down. hope this helps!

That picture is scary. Oh, and I use the white ear buds that came with my ipod. They suck. Wish I could buy some fancy headphones. My dad always says Sennheiser is the best….but he still has a tape deck in the living room.

There’s a reason why Sennheiser is still around since the tape deck days: quality.

I use sh*tty-ass skull candy headphones cuz that’s all I can afford. I heard those Sennheiser ones before and they were pretty awesome but didn’t have a ton off bass unless you cranked the bass all the way up. That’s just my 2 cents!
