Recently, I was at Harrah’s Casino in my hometown of New Orleans, LA. There’s a nightclub inside called “Masquerades”. It’s usually a jumping spot to start the night off. Being as I like to gamble, I can meet up with my friends, get a few cocktails in my while playing some table games, then mosey on over to the club to hear some electronic dance music.

On the night that I last went, I got talked into buying into a small poker tournament. Since I’ve only played poker online, I was a bit intimidated. I am used to being in the comfort of my own home or office, behind my keyboard and mouse, not in front of other people who are taking the game very seriously. Sure enough, when I sit down, three other guys, serious as hell, sit at the same table. These guys are wearing sunglasses and not saying a word. For a tournament that only costs $25 to get in, I thought it was more hilarious than intimidating. Still, I was a bit uncomfortable. I stopped my jitters when my ears were showered with the familiar beats of a Nero track.

Yup, just as the game started, the music I could hear coming from the dance club within the casino started blasting “Me & You.” Immediately I felt like I was in my zone. Even better, about 3 dubstep songs in, the serious guys started complaining about the music. I let out a little laugh then proceeded to finish in second place. I left the table with a cool $100.
