Bratkilla Dubstep

Bratkilla 300x158 Bratkilla Dubstep

I just found out about a dubstep producer going by the name Bratkilla. “killa” in the name is an excellent way to let people know what your music is about when you produce some of the darkest, grimiest, filthiest tunes I’ve ever hear. This is the type of music a deranged lunatic listens to while he hacks up bodies. I don’t know any better way to describe the sounds below. As of now, I don’t know where you can buy the full tracks. As soon as I find out, I’ll post an update.

Bratkilla – Darkness CLIP

Bratkilla Ft Maksim – Resistance CLIP

Bratkilla – The Document CLIP

Bratkilla – The Marching Dead CLIP

Danejah – A Dubstep Producer

This dude, Danejah (danger?), submitted a link to his soundcloud account. I thought it would be fun to do a Q and A with someone who’s trying to make a name for himself in the dubstep music production industry. So, I shot over some questions, and he shot the answers right back. Click on his photo to visit his soundcloud page.

Danejah Danejah A Dubstep Producer

What’s your dj/producer moniker?
Danejah pronounced “dain-jah” 1 word, no pause

Where do you live? Where were you born?
Born and raised here in southern California

How long have you been producing dubstep music?
1 year, day in and day out, learning from friends and who ever wants to teach me, manuals, forums, videos , currently attending school for audio recording and engineering.

How long have you been into dubstep and how did it get started?
It was a progression. From 14 to 18 I listened to a lot of death metal classic bands (’88-’93) and a lot of the heavier genre’s of metal.
At 18, I really got into the golden era of hip hop. A lot of stuff like big l, mobb deep, tribe, wu-tang, etc., while at the same time I was getting into the electronic scene, stuff like electro, fidget-house, and some light wobble stuff. So at 19 is when I found dubstep and just ran with it.

Do you dj anywhere? If so, where?
Anywhere that I get booked, except house parties and similar sketchy events that cops have the power to shut down at any moment.

If you dj, do you use turntables, cds, mp3s, or a combination?
Depends, usually I like my Midi controller. Though, I can beat match by ear and all that good stuff (obviously).

What software/hardware do you use to produce music?
Reaper with reason rewired, no midi keyboard everything is penciled in. Just need my headphones, hard drive, lap-top and I’m set.

Are you making any money from your productions? If so, tell me how (label, independent, etc).

No, not one cent. And, I don’t mind it at all. But, I’d like to be signed to a label very badly to keep my songs protected.

Name a few dubstep producers you you like?
Jakes, Skream, Tomba, LeBelgeElectrod, Guido, Joker, Sub Focus, Mensah, 6blocc, Mala, Loefah, Coki,
and plastician for inspiring me to find my own style of mixing music.

How’d you find NewDubstep.com?
Surfin’ the net. I found a post about my internet-buddy jogo on here, therefore I knew it was my kind of blog.

Any message to people reading this?
somebody…please shoot dat!
